High-Strength Carbon-Free Maraging Steels

VKS-170, VKS-180, VKS-210, VKS-240, VKS-260 steels of high reliability and technological efficiency are strengthened by low-temperature ageing to σb=1600-2600 MPa. They are applied for the production of highly loaded primary parts, fasteners, flexible members, instruments, press moulds for the die casting of aluminium and magnesium alloys. The VKS-170 (σb=1600 MPa) and VKS-180 alloys (σb=1790 MPa), possessing the unique combination of strength and toughness, are workable within the temperature range from -70 to +400°C (VKS-170 is workable from -196°C) and can be used for GTE shafts and other critical parts.
